Cat Came Back

puz9This is Sylvia. She is a beautiful, little stray that I rescued(eventually!!)and took home.As my last post was about another stray cat and I wanted to get back to my blog,it seemed a good reason to get started.I am fostering her till someone can give her a forever home, but I am totally attached to her already and don’t really want to let her go.I don’t know what happened to Sylvia while she was out there, but she is very jumpy, timid, distrustful and unsure.Slowly, taking small steps, she is coming around, but it makes me so sad to think what she may have endured.I keep an eye on a couple of other wandering lone cats and I worry about them all.Every day there seems to be more horror stories, the endless cruelty and abuse,it makes me sick to my soul.Anyone that can be cruel to an animal is not human in my book. They are psychotic, irredeemable. They have no compassion, for anyone or anything, they are empty. They bring only negativity to the world;but we must remember all the amazing people who do care and who try every day to make a difference and never give up.I want to thank each and every one of them for being there, for all they do,it means so much. You are all amazing. It’s easy to feel despair in the face of such heartbreaking atrocities, but knowing so many caring people are out there, that we are not alone, helps us go on and however small an act of kindness you do,it makes ripples,it spreads,so never give up,it does make a difference. We are all connected and strengthen each other. As I write this,Sylvia is curled on a fluffy, red cushion on the window-ledge,her paw curled over her face, twitching gently in a lost dream…..that’s why we do it.
